This painting captures the quiet intensity of three rival classic yachts gliding across a calm, silvery sea during the Cannes Panerai reggata. At the heart of the composition is Skylark, a vessel well known to me owned by Tara Getty. I was fortunate to be on board the magnificent Eileen—owned by Panerai, the race organiser for the Régates Royales de Cannes—where I witnessed and photographed a series of unforgettable moments on the water. Those impressions, the elegance of the yachts, and the atmosphere of the regatta have all been distilled into this painting, celebrating the grace, heritage, and camaraderie of classic sailing.
